Instagram’s Sign-Up page for Android gets users Excited and Curious

Yes, the iOS – only app finally makes it to Android! Instagram has been very shy on giving away any news on their plans to enter other platforms. Finally, they did give us some hint that their next target would be android. The company recently launched a page [here you go] for android users to sign up but still NOT giving away the release date of the app.

Now for those of you who are new to the word Instagram, here’s a quick sneak – INSTAGRAM is a free photo sharing application currently exclusive to iOS users which allows users to take pictures, apply a filter[something like Nashville effect of Photoshop] and then share it on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and a bunch others.

Earlier this month, Kevin Systrom the co-founder of the company did tease the audience at South by Southwest by waving around the android version of the app on stage (apparently it wasn’t ready for a demo he claimed) whilst replying to TechCrunch’s Alexia Tsotsis. He even claimed that the android version of the app would in some ways be better than iOS (which now has 27 Million registered users).

Well as of now though, all we can do is sign up and wait for any future notifications. All it needs is your E-mail address and all it says is “Want to be first in line for Instagram on Android?”. Are you excited about Instagram Android app? Tell us about it in comments.
