Chandra Bahadur Dangi – “The World`s Shortest Living Man” by Guinness Book Of World Records
Chandra Bahadur Dangi, a villager from Nepal,, boasts of a World Record for being “The Shortest Living Man”.
This 72 year old man is just 54.6Cm tall and weighs 12Kg. He grabbed this record from Junrey Balawing of Phillippines, who was 59.9cm tall. If his age is confirmed to be 72, he will also be the Oldest Person to be bestowed the Shortest Man record.
Dangi, is from a village of Rhimkholi, about 250 miles west of Kathmandu. Born and brought up in a poor and uneducated family, Dangi has never heard of Mount Everest. He earns a sparse living, weaving jute headbands and has only ever left his village, a handful of times. He lost his parents at a very young age, and presently lives with his brothers. However, his five brothers and two sisters are of normal height. His village is deprived of basic health care and so, Dangi has never visited a doctor in his life.
He was noticed by a Forest Contractor cutting timber in his village and was brought to the notice of Guinness Book Of World Records.
This surely is a “MOMENT OF PRIDE” for the 72 year old for being noticed by the world.
