No Challenge Revaluation Feature for 2012-2012 & Future Batches | VTU
A latest circular issued by VTU to Engineering College Principals, states that there will not be an allowance forChallenge Revaluation feature for 2011-2012 and future admit-tees. The notification also states that those who apply for revaluation shall also apply for a photocopy of their Answer Sheets. Additionally, the Revaluation Form fee has also seen an Increase.
The VTU scrapped CRV in a recent executive council meeting after widespread allegations that students who had failed in valuation and revaluation were passing in challenge revaluation.
In case of Revaluation, two re-valuers shall correct the paper and the average marks of the two shall be considered as the final revaluation marks if the difference between the two values is less than or equal to fifteen marks. In case the difference exceeds fifteen, a third re-valuer shall correct the paper along with the 2 other re-valuers jointly.
However, the revaluation scheme for batches prior to 2011-2012 remains unchanged and the students can still avail the Challenge Revaluation feature.
This latest Notice has caused quite a stir among the students as to what are the intentions behind amending such a Critical Regulation. Is it to simply raise the Standards and Quality of Evaluation or is it just another Money-Making tactic (as claimed by some VTU Students) employed by VTU.
